Great ride for Emma Wood last week at the Crit on the Campus up in Scotland! 6th!
Studying for a degree and riding at such a level can't be easy!
Keep it up Emma! See her report below:
Sunday 26th May
Crit on the Campus
Women E/1/2/3/4
As one of the biggest cycle races in Scotland, this year’s Crit on the Campus saw 460 entrants take to a great circuit in some beautiful Scottish weather. The technical circuit at Stirling University created a great breakaway opportunity which I took, along with about 10 other riders. Some tight chicanes and fast corners made for a great race with plenty of attacks, thinning our group down to 6. With 5 laps to go, we lapped the main field and struggled to make any decisive moves without the pressure of a chasing group. By the last lap, our leading group was still together and the finish came down to a long attack through a headwind and a couple of tight corners. A little tired from illness, I had no legs for sprinting and rolled over the line in 6th place. Really enjoyed the race which was lively and brilliantly organised!
