General NewsResultsRecords fall at Whiteleaf Hilly

Tuesday 3rd August produced a record breaking Club event at the Whiteleaf hilly TT. First up was Mac Nisbet who broke not one, but two, records with his scintillating ride of 37.33 for the two laps. This updated the juvenile record of 39.10 and junior record of 37.59 both held by Martin Freeman. About the time Martin broke the junior record back in 1999 record he represented Great Britain at the Youth Olympics in Spain.
The next record to go was the ladies vets record which went by half a minute as Dena Ford updated her own record with her gutsy 45.33.
The fourth record to go was the men’s senior record of 36.42 set by Paul Lasenby in 2008. In form Adam Charleston blazed round the course in 36.17. A measure of just how good this ride is can be gauged from Stuart Dangerfield’s private ride of a very short 36 minutes in a Club Whiteleaf event back around 2001. Dangerfield won five national hill climb championships and 21 national time trial championships in total.
